I love to create, whether it be sewing a patchwork quilt, documenting memories in a scrapbook, working in my art journal, or painting a mixed-media canvas. I love to use vintage ephemera in my art – lace, fabric, ribbons and buttons, old book pages and sheet music, doilies inherited from my grandmother, broken jewelry, trinkets, and vintage greeting cards.
I also love to write and have self-published several novels. My books often include craft themes, such as the Wattle Lane novels, which are centered around a scrapbooking shop in the small New Zealand town of Kerrigan.
My other passion is gardening and growing organic vegetables, as well as herbs and flowers to use in my art and in homemade body care products.
I live with my husband, Nick, and our beloved dog, Finn, in the Art Deco city of Napier, New Zealand, surrounded by sunshine, beaches, orchards and vineyards.
Thank you for joining me on my creative journey.

Hi Kristah,
I have been looking for plain brown tabbed A5 notebooks for ages! Where did you find them?
Would love some. Thanks!

Hi Genevieve,
I found these notebooks at Whitcoulls bookstore. Not sure if you have one where you are, but they do have an online website. Hope you can find them!

Hi Kristah
Can you please let me know what breed Finn is? I found your blog by accident and spotted Finn. He is very similar to our rescued pooch, and we’ve little idea what breed he’s crossed with. Obviously Jack Russell cross but that’s about it. It’s nice to see pictures of Finn as a puppy, which gives us an idea to how sweet our little boy would have been a few years ago as a puppy, which unfortunately we weren’t lucky enough to have experienced as he was about 4 or 5 when he was abandoned and we took him in.
Thanks Paul

Hi Paul
Finn is a Jack Russell crossed with a Fox Terrier/Bichon Frise cross. He is 4 years old now and is a very sociable little dog with a lovely nature. He loves to be around people and other dogs. He has quite thick fur, but he doesn’t moult very much, which is good as he goes everywhere with us in the car! Have a great day!
